1. Get into state before you hit your first tee shot.
Just like a boxer warms up before a fight, a golfer needs to warm up before they hit the green. Pump yourself up, and get in the mind state you are in when you are in the zone. Why not start out in the zone? It can be possible if you warm up first and get into the right mind state.
2. Exercise your swing.
Your hands will make or break you on the golf course. Therefore, it is important that you exercise them and warm them up before you play the game. Otherwise, you may pull a shot — or worse, pull a muscle. Keep practicing your swinging, because that is where the game is won or lost.
3. Club size makes a difference.
Selecting the right club, to hit certain shots, is very important in the game and golf. You must make sure the size of your club is appropriate to your style, and proportionate to your height. If you’re not comfortable swinging a club, it is going to show on your scorecard.
4. Familiarize yourself with the different components of the golf swing.
By understanding the mechanics of successful golf swings, you can improve your golf swing technique. Also, if you don’t know which areas to work on, how can you improve your game?
5. Become intimate with the course.
You have to know what are the trouble areas and the sweet spots in each golf course. By having experience with the course, you will develop a golfer’s intuition about which clubs to choose, and where to hit your shots.
