Poker Etiquette
People play Hold ‘em because it is something they enjoy doing. Its fun and they like playing. Texas Hold ‘Em is a game of big money!
The fact is that most people don’t win. If you need to make money you would probably enjoy something that involves far fewer risks. Sometimes there is a player at the table that you think maybe will drive you up a wall.
Nothing can be more distracting than having to sit next to this person. So make sure you’re never that person. Always remember your poker manners, regardless of the type of game you are involved in.
Always remember your poker manners. Whatever type of game you are involved in always follow poker etiquette. There are certain rules, but there are also things that may not make sense.
Well, that is if you want people left who are willing to play with you. The first rule is not to react while you play cards. Have a stone face when you look at your hand.
Do not let anyone read you at all. If you let people read you just play your cards face up. Never let anyone see your hands while a game is in play.
You’ll seem like your crazy for beginners if you show your hand, and planned to stay. Kiss that idea goodbye because once shown it is a dead hand. And if you were planning on folding you are still going to tick somebody right off.
Kiss that idea goodbye because once shown that is a dead card. And if you were planning on folding you are still going to tick somebody off. This is because you can give a player an advantage over another, and perhaps ruin a pot for someone.
There is other ignorant and evil thing you should never do. One is this, fold your hand, sit back and watch the flop. Discover that you would have had a good hand if you did not fold.
Only to discover that you would have had a good hand if you do not fold. Then react so everyone knows what happened. It is just the wrong way to handle yourself in a game.
These are only a few rules to follow. Do so that you are at least humble about what you do. Plus you do not want your opponents to withdraw the game because they can not play with you anymore.
